  A Balancing Act: Fossil and Alternative Fuels
  Policymakers worldwide find themselves increasingly confronted by the need to balance economic development with an effective, secure yet environmentally-benign energy policy. The myriad of new alternative energy and fuels options has fundamentally changed the rules of the energy game, at the same time significantly increased the complexity of the policymaking process.

  Biofuels in Asia: An Analysis of Sustainability Options (By USAID, March 2009)
  Biofuels have been at the center of intense interest, discussion, and debate in recent years. The global biofuels boom began in 2004-2005 with the announcement by the United States (US) and the European Union (EU) of policies and incentives to support increased use of biofuels. In addition to spurring domestic production in several countries, especially the EU, the policies encouraged producers to seek out feedstocks and fuel from tropical and subtropical regions, initiating pan-global trade in biofuels.

No element of our natural world is more essential to life than the air we breathe, and no environmental task more vital than keeping it clean. The air pollution we are familiar with today is predominantly the result of energy consumption. Fossil fuels have long been a vital energy resource for transportation for mankind. They play an important role in the flow of transportation which lies at the heart of all human activity and thus it is important to look into cleaner transportation fuels in the interests of improving our natural environment.

ACFA promotes the use of oxygenates (such as MTBE) based on three important attributes:

1. The use of sound science and facts to support decision makers;
2. Cost effectiveness and viability to support the masses; and
3. Environment and technology.

ACFA believes that factual data and proper scientific evidence will provide decision makers with valid and reliable information on which to base their strategies, plans and decisions for their country.

"Sound science and facts stand the test of time."
